Food for thought

When a land transgresses it has many rulers; but with men of understanding and knowledge its stability will long continue. [Proverbs 28:2 (RSV)]

I was just thinking about my beloved country when I ‘stumbled’ into this verse during my daily word intake. I started asking myself some questions. Will you think with me?

Is this the reason we have two governments in one, two centres of power, two principals and two of almost anything else government?

Is it the reason in the new constitution we have 47 separate governments and one central one?

Is it the reason we have activists holding some of our highest positions for no other reason than having long careers in activism?

Is it the reason we are treating stable family life as unnecessary, probably irrelevant, as a qualification to a position that could decide the fate of many marriages?

Is it the reason even pastors are scared to preach against sin for fear of scaring off ‘offerings’?

Is it the reason discipleship is being talked more of like an ideal instead the commission Christ made it?

Continue to think with me

Is the need for many leaders caused by the unreliability of the leaders as individuals?

Could it be that one can’t trust others because he can’t even trust himself?

Then I came across another verse
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan. [Proverbs 29:2 (RSV)]
Is it the reason people are groaning from hunger to insecurity to unemployment?
Is there anything we can do? Does God expect anything from us in handling the situation?
What can we do to make God’s kingdom and His will operate in our nation?
Who is ready to stand and be counted for God’s agenda to be operational in this land we all so love?
Just thinking!!!!!
