Sow and Reap

Owuor, the self-proclaimed mightiest prophet is symptomatic of the crisis we are having in the Christian leadership circles.

Why do I say that?

There is no coherent spiritual analysis of the person, his doctrine and his methods. Whatever we see, if we at all see, is criticism, but shallow enough that it only scratches the surface. And of course we remember most of the said leaders attended his first city meeting without caring to know what he believed.

Many pastors and bishops look at the fraudster with envy, wondering what they could do to attain such a sycophantic following. Many would be willing to sell all to attain such status.

I am not dreaming. What does the name of a church have to do with the pastor or his spouse, for example? Why then must a sign post or literature have their pictures and names?

Why do churches change their constitution to ensure the main character does not retire or even go for sabbatical?

Many senior pastors and bishops are not much different from Owour. He only beat them in the proclamation.

How many are always screaming 'touch not my anointed' when they do not even know its context? How many are always reminding their followers to believe the prophets even when the bulk of what they call prophecy is guess work?

Who between the prophet and the scriptures should be trusted?

You see, God is about to deal false prophets a terminal blow. And it is important for you to be on the right side of that judgment.

Retrospect

Look at Proverbs 13: 13

Solomon wrote it retrospectively, probably about the time he wrote Ecclesiastes.

Why do I suggest so?

His life demonstrated that verse as completely as if it had been addressed to him. And in Ecclesiastes we see the aspect of regret.

What does that tell us?

The way we consume and obey God;s word has a direct bearing to how our life will turn out

Will we take God;s word as seriously as He takes it? Like Psalm 138; 2?

In and Out 3

As we look at God and the way He looks on the inside, I want us to look at a small statement in the Bible.

Have you read it in yourBible?

'Eyes full of adultery'

Ever wondered what eyes have to do with a purely 'physical' act?

What does that statement mean?

Let me ask another small set of questions.

Why is it that only people who are inadequately dressed protest when dressing is mentioned? Why is it that people will tattoo their bodies in places closest to that indecency?

And why did God forbid tattooing in the scriptures if He did not care for the outside?

In and Out 2

Still continuing the thread.

If God is not interested on the outside why did He have to kill to clothe Adan and Eve after they fell?

Why are there so many instructions on dress in both testaments?

Why does the Bible go to great lengths to describe the dressing of Christ as the soon returning King?

And why should the Bible have a statement 'attire of a harlot' if God never cared about the externals?

You see, God is not uninterested on the outside. He just knows that the outside is a manifestation of what is cooking on the inside.

As such,  a heart with an inclination to harlotry will seek the dress that will put those leanings on display.

I hope you realise that you can gauge the state of a person by their nature of talk, not even where coarse talking is involved. You might hear someone pouring scriptural platitudes in such a way that you sense they have nothing spiritual inside them.

That is why Proverbs 4: 23 is such a powerful verse to memorise
